Prepare gnocchi according to package directions. In a large pan, saute shallots and garlic in 1 tablespoon oil until clear. Add thyme and cook for 15 seconds. Add marsala wine, and heat until liquid evaporates. Stir in chicken stock and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, until sauce thickens.
Saute chicken in butter and 1 tablespoon oil in a very hot pan until done, about 7 to 9 minutes.
On each plate, arrange chicken strips to resemble a star. Spoon marsala sauce on top. Place cooked gnocchi in the center of star. Garnish with thyme.
