Heat oven to 350°. Line a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with nonstick foil. Set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, wheat germ, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl, whisk eggs and oil. Add other ingredients as directed below.
Add 1/4 tsp ground cardamom to dry ingredients, if desired. Add 1/2 cup orange or tangerine juice, 1/2 cup oil, 1/3 cup honey, 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar and 2 tsp tangerine or orange zest to wet ingredients. Once blended, fold in 1 1/4 cups fresh or thawed frozen pitted cherries, quartered. Transfer to prepared pan and bake at 350° for 60 minutes.
