Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 pound powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Milk
  • Natural Food Dye (optional)

Make It

1. In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Gradually add 1 cup of the powdered sugar, beating well. Slowly beat in 3 Tbs. milk and vanilla. Gradually beat in remaining sugar. Beat in enough additional milk to reach spreading consistency. If desired, tint with food dyes. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
