  • In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Gradually add 1 cup of the powdered sugar, beating well. Slowly beat in 3 Tbs. milk and vanilla. Gradually beat in remaining sugar. Beat in enough additional milk to reach spreading consistency. If desired, tint with food dyes. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
