  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Line the bottom of a baking pan with parchment paper. Slice bagel in half; place 1 half, cut side up, in prepared pan. (Save other bagel half for another use.)

  • Spread marinara sauce over bagel half. Cover bagel half with mozzarella, tucking a bit down into the hole to catch the egg. Crack egg onto bagel half so yolk drops into the hole. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Bake until white is cooked and yolk is firm, 18 to 20 minutes, or until desired doneness.
