Servings: 6 Prep 5 mins Cook per manufacturers directions

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons plus 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, separated, plus 1 egg white
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons chocolate-hazelnut spread
  • 2 cups sliced bananas
  • 2 centimeters sliced strawberries

Make It

1. Heat waffle iron. In a bowl, beat heavy cream with 2 tsp sugar to stiff peaks. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, remaining 2 tbsp sugar, the baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, stir together milk, butter, egg yolk and vanilla. Pour wet mixture into dry mixture and stir until just combined. Place egg whites in another bowl and beat with a hand mixer on high until fluffy. Fold into batter.

3. Ladle batter into waffle iron (about 1/2 cup per waffle). Cook according to manufacturers directions. Repeat with remaining batter. (Makes about 6 standard waffles.)

4. Top each warm waffle with 1 tbsp chocolate-hazelnut spread, 1/3 cup sliced bananas, 1/3 cup sliced strawberries and whipped cream.
