Apple and Pear with Cinnamon

Apple and pear puree is an ideal first food, being easy to digest and unlikely to cause allergies. Choose sweet apples like Golden Delicious or Royal Gala. Some varieties, such as Granny Smith, may have too tart a flavour for your baby.

Apple and Pear with Cinnamon

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 2 medium pears, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened apple juice or water
  • Generous pinch ground cinnamon (optional)

Make It

1. Put the fruit in a saucepan together with the apple juice or water and cinnamon (if using), cover, and cook over low heat for 6 minutes or until tender. Blend the fruit to a smooth puree.
