Hanukkah Sweet-Potato Fries

Hanukkah Sweet-Potato Fries
Servings: 6 Bake 325°F 30 mins

  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • 1 cup low-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Make It

Make the design:

1. Peel sweet potatoes and slice 1/3-inch thick. Have your child make dreidel and Star of David shapes with cookie cutters. Keep leftover pieces with the design cut out. Cover 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper and preheat oven to 325 F.

Prep the pan:

2. Let your child toss the potatoes with oil and place them on baking sheets. Ask her to sprinkle on sea salt. Bake 30 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a knife. (Or put them on a microwave-safe plate, and cook on High for 3 minutes.)

Whip the dip:

3. Help your child pour the yogurt and honey into a medium bowl and mix them together with a spatula. Once the fries have cooled for a few minutes, transfer them to a plate or a platter and place the yogurt dip on the side. Serves 6.
