Heat oven to 400°F. Unroll pastry on floured surface. Roll to 14 x 10-inch rectangle. Cut in half lengthwise (two 14 x 5-inch rectangles). Brush halves with egg wash. Sprinkle one half with cheese and pepper. Place remaining half, egg wash side down, on filled half. Gently roll with rolling pin to seal. Cut crosswise into 28 strips, 1/2 inch wide. Place on ungreased baking sheet; twist. Brush lightly with egg wash.
Bake in 400°F oven 10 minutes, until browned.
