Find out if it is OK for you to use a microwave during pregnancy -- or if it is time to unplug this kitchen appliance and instead cook on the stove top for the next nine months.

Q. Are microwave ovens safe?

A. All of those myths about the dangers of microwave ovens were born out of a fear of radiation exposure. However, new studies show that the radiation emitted from a microwave oven is negligible. It's extremely unlikely that using one could cause any harm to you or your baby. If it makes you feel better, go ahead and stand to one side as you zap, but there's really no need.
