Some women experience a heightened sense of taste and smell during pregnancy.
Changes in taste and smell
One whiff of a stranger's perfume makes you gag. Or the pungent food you loved just weeks ago now turns your stomach. Tastes and smells may intensify while you're pregnant, but not every woman experiences this. In fact, some doctors doubt whether it's a real phenomenon. Still, if your senses sharpen, avoid the things that bother you and be thankful that your senses will return to normal after your baby is born.
