Why a Little Boy Gave Prince William an Avocado for Kate Middleton
The 4-year-old's mom is also expecting—and suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum (HG).
The U.K. -- and really, the whole world -- couldn't be more excited that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting baby #3! Still, Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate is suffering from severe morning sickness or hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) once again, which is no doubt tough and stressful for the mom of two. And that must be what one little boy was thinking when he offered Prince William an avocado for Princess Kate.
William was visiting a swimming pool in Wallesey, Mereyside on Thursday, September 14 when one of the kids he met, Archie Weatherall, 4, offered up the fruit, wrapped up in a pretty bow. Apparently, Archie's mom is also expecting a L.O., and also suffers from HG. So, the little boy thought the Duchess would benefit from the natural remedy.
"[Prince William] said he's never been given an avocado before," Christina Lahive, headteacher of Riverside Primary School, told The Daily Mail. "He said he'd take it to her and see what happens -- and said good luck for Archie's mummy." Aw!

The thinking behind avocado as a natural aid for morning sickness: Their stores of vitamin B6 can keep nausea at bay. They're also a great source of fiber, vitamins E and K, folate, and minerals (potassium, iron, and magnesium). Here's hoping the Duchess benefits from the power of avocado! At the very least, she was surely delighted by this little boy's sweet gesture.
