When my husband got a vasectomy a few years back, we pretty much kept the whole thing on the DL. I told a couple friends, he chilled on the couch for a few days with a bag of frozen peas, and that was pretty much it. But now I'm thinking we may have gone about the whole thing wrong. Because check out what mom of three Amber Cole did to celebrate the fact that her own husband was about to get snipped:
That's right. She baked him a cake. One that featured a bunch of cute little sperms and had the words "I'm glad you can't knock me up" sprawled across the middle. Pretty freaking amazing. And now I totally feel like the worst wife ever for basically doing nothing to honor the fact that my husband had chivalrously stepped up and taken one for the team.
"Someone's not as excited about his 'procedure' tomorrow, as I am!" Cole wrote in the caption of her Facebook post. "Celebrating with cake! Three boys are our limit! If anyone wanted to have a baby by my husband, speak now or forever hold your peace!"
“I think everyone deserves at least a cake for going through a vasectomy!” the creative mama told Parents.com, adding that the couple’s 10-year wedding anniversary is coming up in a few short months. “So that’ll be my next cake,” she said. “Something involving a ball and chain!”

Pretty funny. And as it turns out, Cole isn't the first ingenious mama to whip up a vasectomy cake for her courageous spouse. A quick search over on Pinterest revealed that this is a whole thing. People have even turned to the pros for help celebrating this big milestone as well. Clearly, I should have upped my game.

We think these vasectomy cakes are all pretty awesome, no matter how you slice it.
