This Man's Reaction to His Sister's Pregnancy Announcement Will Melt Your Heart

Brotherly love doesn't get much sweeter than this.

A pregnancy announcement video recorded two years ago is going viral again after it was reposted this past week on Facebook, and it’s clear to see why.

In the video, originally recorded in August 2014, Calum MacPhee’s younger sister Lindsay offers him and his partner a bottle of wine from a winery trip and jokes that she really got it for herself but that she “can’t drink for the next nine months.” She then tosses two pregnancy test sticks on the table in front of them, but Calum is already on his feet, embracing Lindsay and crying tears of pure joy.

And if the video wasn’t already enough to break you, the story behind it will. As Lindsay wrote on the Love What Matters Facebook page, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 at age 27, and after nearly a decade of trying to conceive, she was told she was slipping in and out of menopause and would not be able to have children. “Heartbroken, devastated and feeling complete and utter loss, we moved back home to be near my family,” she wrote.

Then, at age 36, a month and a half after moving home, Lindsay thought she’d gotten food poisoning. “Positive it was from Thai food, I tried nursing myself for a week and a half before I had a feeling to buy another pregnancy test,” she wrote. “When it came back positive we could not believe it so we bought two more, had blood work and an ultrasound. Yup, we were preggers!! A miracle baby.”

Lindsay’s “miracle baby,” a boy, is now 14 months old, but even Lindsay admits she “still cannot watch the video without crying.” The more than 620,000 people who have viewed the video since its repost likely agree.

“It defines our families’ true love,” Lindsay added. “Our hearts are full.”
