The look on this dad's face as he feels his wife's vice grip during a contraction is priceless.

No dad would pretend that his experience of labor and delivery is even remotely as difficult as what his lady went through, but there is pain involved. The emotional pain of watching the mama try to push a baby out, the fear of soon being responsible for a tiny human, and, well, the physical pain of having your fingers crushed as your wife grabs the hand you've offered as moral support in a vice-like death grip during a contraction.

Yep, new mom Alisha Baxter recently shared a photo of her partner Jive Ria during her labor, and the look on his face is priceless. In the Facebook post, Alisha wrote, "Everytime I look at his face and how squished his fingers are I crack up."

Oh, Alisha, so do we! The photo, taken by her cousin, shows Jive's face right when his daughter, Blakely, began to crown. "Us blokes go through a lot of pain as well. As you can see in my face," he told the Daily Mail.

Facebook commenters on the post commiserated with the Australian couple: "I bent my hubby's wedding ring from squeezing his hand so tight when I was in labour with our first so when I was in labour with our second he took his ring off," wrote Stephanie Corinne Elms.

Wow! Now that's impressive.

As for Jive, he had a few words of advice for other dads in his situation: "Just be there and do as you're told or you will end up hurt."

We hope Jive's fingers have recovered, and that mom Alisha and baby Blakely are doing well!
