The Met Gala's Baby Bump Parade Was Fierce
The Met Gala's red carpet welcomed pregnant celebrity mamas Kerry Washington, Blake Lively, Olivia Wilde, and Emily Blunt, who all rocked their burgeoning baby bumps.
It was a big evening for baby bumps at the Met Gala last night, as expectant mamas took over the red carpet looking fiery, futuristic, and fabulous—and giving new meaning to the phrase "maternity fashion."
After finally confirming her second pregnancy just a few hours before, Kerry Washington strode into the event to debut her budding belly in a seriously edgy way. Decked out in a sexy lace Marc Jacobs gown with a thigh-high slit, the Scandal star rocked magenta hair, a fierce smokey eye, and a killer pair of sheer polka dot gloves that she put to good use by cradling her bump all night. She may have a bun in the oven, but the message was clear: this hot mama is still a gladiator.
Blake Lively—also preggers with baby number two—took a markedly different approach for her big coming out. The Gossip Girl alum basically glided into fashion's biggest night like a Greek goddess, swathed in a flowy light pink chiffon gown from Burberry that featured a corset top punctuated with laser-cut petals. Her super-stunning look screamed old-Hollywood glamour.
But the two baby bumps that drew the most attention belonged to expectant duo Olivia Wilde and Emily Blunt, who apparently coordinated in advance (!) and hence, both turned up in slithery, body-hugging numbers from the Michael Kors Collection. Could these two be any hotter?
Blunt went for skin-tight sheer blue sequined lace, which she paired with a silver clutch, a cool 18-karat diamond ear cuff, and a bunch of chunky rings. But Wilde was the one we couldn't take our eyes off. Her edgy grommet-accented black gown was accompanied by the Vinyl star's long, sleek ponytail and the most incredible silver neck piece we've ever seen!
The pair played it up for the cameras, giggling, hugging, and checking out each other's bumps all night. Two peas in a pod, indeed.
