It's a good thing he's used to all those Late Night hours.
Because after days of speculation, a rep for talk show host Seth Meyers and wife Alexi Ashe has confirmed that they are, indeed, expecting their first child.
According to Us Weekly, the couple made the announcement during a gala at the Museum of Natural History last week in New York, where Meyers was on MC duty.
"The couple was sharing the exciting news with friends and cast members at the event," a source said. "Everyone was coming up and congratulating the couple and giving them hugs. Seth and Alexi were beaming about the news of their baby!"
Meyers and Ashe tied the knot on Martha's Vineyard in September, 2013, after dating for five years and getting engaged just a few month before the wedding. The star-studded event was attended by Meyers former Saturday Night Live co-star Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde; Kristen Wiig, Rose Bryne, Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Poehler, Jimmy Fallon, Lorne Michaels, and Will Forte, who reportedly gave a hilarious, if borderline inappropriate, toast.
This will be the first child for both Ashe, a human rights lawyer, and the 41-year-old funny guy—although they are already pround parents to their dog Frisbee. And while they have yet to announce when the baby is due and whether it's a boy or a girl, we have a feeling this kid is going to come out giggling.
"My wife is sillier than I am so that makes me laugh a great deal," Meyers has said. "I make her laugh, too. But I also make her not laugh and that's when I know it's time to retire something."
Congrats to both Seth and Alexi!
