Red Carpet Baby Bump! Evangeline Lilly's 'Ant-Man' Surprise

I write about a lot of pregnancy announcements around here, including fun surprises. But rarely does an expecting mama have as big of an audience for her pregnancy announcement surprise as does a star at a huge summer blockbuster movie premiere!

Illustrating that point was Evangeline Lilly, who turned up on the red carpet in Los Angeles for her new movie Ant-Man in a color-blocked black and white gown that clearly showed off her pregnancy. So how's that for a high-profile announcement?

"It's so great. I feel wonderful," the star told People at the event. But she added, "I have to say, high heels and doing a red carpet is starting to ache."

This will be Lilly's second child with beau Norman Kali, whom she met on the set of Lost. Of the second-time experience, she added, "My first one, I was 30, now I'm 35. I'm much more tired this time. The last time I was off work, I had no children, I had a partner who was busy working 18 hours a day, so I had all day to meditate and love on my baby and just be pregnant."

Not so much now, of course! In addition to her Hollywood career, Lilly has recently become an author, too: Her children's book series The Squickerwonkers debuted in November.

Back then she told us that she's glad when her professional decisions dovetail nicely with her family life. "The Hobbit is great family entertainment. Ant-Man will be great family entertainment. The Squickerwonkers is for the whole family. I think that's the kid in me coming out. I never really grew up," she said.

Congrats the newly expecting couple!
