The expecting singer-songwriter recently spoke about the difficulties she's facing during her pregnancy.
Thirteen years ago, as I gave birth to a baby girl two months before my due date, pop princess Kelly Clarkson was being crowned the first-ever American Idol on an out-of-focus TV hanging just above my hospital bed. Now the 33-year-old singer and mom to 17-month-old River Rose is opening up with details about her rough second pregnancy.
"I'm familiar with all-day sickness," she revealed on CBS This Morning. "I have to get IVs and fluids because I get so dehydrated. It's really bad."
This isn't the first time Clarkson has battled with a diffifult pregnancy. She suffered many complications during her first pregnancy, telling Ellen Degeneres in 2013 that she vomited a "dozen times a day" when she was pregnant with River Rose. Clarkson's issues remained even after gving birth, when the singer almost lost the voice that made her famous and feared she would have to retire.
We are so glad THAT never happened!

The Idol alum confirmed that she and husband Brandon Blackstock were expecting back in August, after breaking down during a performance of "Piece by Piece" at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. "I couldn't get through it and I was crying so hard and I thought, 'These people are going to think I'm on drugs but I'm about to lose it like a crazy person.' I was like, 'Oh, I gotta explain.'"
So she did. "I was not planning on announcing this," she told the crowd. "I'm totally pregnant!" Just recently, Clarkson revealed something else. The couple—who have been married since 2013—are expecting a boy this time around! They shared the news on Instagram by posting an adorbable pic of River with the caption: "In other news, River's gonna have a little baby brother :) #itsaboy. We're so excited!"
So are we, Kelly! We hope you feel better soon!
