Pregnancy Everything Pregnancy 5 Ways Kim Kardashian's Pregnancy Was Just Like Yours (and 4 Ways It Totally Wasn't) Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have added baby boy Saint West to their brood! Here's a look back at Kardashian's second pregnancy, including the ways it was (and wasn't) just like anyone else's. Here's what we know so far: Kim gave birth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles early Saturday morning, about three weeks before her due date. Even though the little guy wasn't due until Christmas, Kim must have known something was up because she posted a selfie the night before with the caption: "Ready whenever you are. LOL". According to TMZ, the delivery room posse included mom Kris, sister Kourtney, and husband Kanye, natch. The power couple then announced the birth via Twitter. "He's here!" Kim, 35, tweeted out alongside a pic of her hands clutching her husband's. On her website, the reality star then added: "Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West welcomed the arrival of their son this morning. Mother and son are doing well." What they didn't announce right away was #KimyeBaby's name, because apparently they didn't have one—until today, when Kardashian announced the name on her blog and social pages: Saint West. The Hottest Baby Names for 2016 Hey, naming a baby is serious business, and Kimye's not the only couple to struggle with deciding on the perfect moniker. Here are five other ways Kardashian's pregnancy and birth were just like anyone else's—and a few ways it definitely wasn't. 1. She had a hard time getting pregnant. Famous or not, the struggle was real for Kim and Kanye when it came to making baby #2. Kim had her heart set on getting pregnant again, even after her first pregnancy with daughter North, 2, resulted in dangerous complications including preeclampsia and placenta accreta. According to People, Kim had to have three surgeries to repair her uterus, then tried to conceive for months on end before turning to in vitro. 2. She got morning sickness. Nothing can blast the happiness over finally being pregnant quite like a bout of morning sickness, something Kim only learned the second time around. Still, the reality queen remained upbeat. "To be honest, I've had really bad morning sickness, day sickness, night sickness — I can barely get out of bed," she told Us Weekly. "It's a very different type of pregnancy from my first one, but I'm so grateful to be pregnant when we didn't even think it was going to happen for us [so] I don't care how sick I am." Atta girl! 3. She hates being pregnant. But the hot mama changed her tune just a few months later, writing on her blog in October: "For me, pregnancy is the worst experience of my life! LOL! I don't enjoy one moment of it and I don't understand people who enjoy it... I'm not sure why I don't like the experience like others do. Maybe it's the swelling, the backaches or just the complete mindf**k of how your body expands and nothing fits. I just always feel like I'm not in my own skin. It's hard to explain. I don't feel sexy, either—I feel insecure and most of the time I just feel gross." See...even celebrities feel gross, you guys! Sure, it's a far cry from feeling grateful, but at least she's keeping it real, so mad props. 4. The babe was turnt. Next came news—via a blog post titled "My Baby Boy is Turnt!"—that Baby West was breech. Kim was forced to undergo a procedure called External Cephalic Version (ECV) to manually turn the baby to the correct head-down position. "They gave me an IV with medication to relax my uterus, and then three doctors attempted to work together to turn the baby," she wrote, adding that her sisters and Kanye were there for the procedure, and that is was "soooooo painful... probably more painful than childbirth." Score one for epidurals! 5. She gained a lot of weight. Finally, unlike most celebrities, Kim was more than happy to share with her fans both the amount of weight she had gained during her pregnancy—up 52 pounds and still six weeks to go, she announced via Twitter—and the way she feels about it, which is basically "fat as f**k". "My cankles are out of control," she wrote on her website at the 9-month mark, before disclosing that she was craving Lay's barbecue potato chips. For me, it was Route 11 brand in the Dill Pickle flavor but poTAYto, poTAHto, right? Obviously, Pregnant Kim is just like us! Excpet for these three tiny little ways in which she so wasn't: 1. Two words: Nude selfie. What? You didn't confirm your pregnancy by posting a nude selfie to your 42 million followers on Instragram? Yeah, me neither. 2. She rocked the red carpet. My brother got married when I was eight months pregnant, so I had to rock a bridesmaid dress with a side of bump alongside six other skinny minnies. Which is kind of (but not really at all) like Kim having to hit the red carpet for the InStyle Awards back in October with Selena Gomez and a bevvy of size zero supermodels. "Feeling extra thin with all of the supermodels!" she wrote on Instagram. "LOL!" 3. Her push present request was heard round the world. After posting a not-so-subtle request for a $1 million Lorraine Scwartz diamond choker last month in a blog post titled "My Push Present," Kim's use of the phrase basically blew up the Internet. People called the idea everything from "awful" to "vulgur," but we just want to know one thing: Did she get it? 4. That birthing suite tho... According to Inquistr, #Kimyebaby is already busy keeping up with the Kardashians. The little dude was born in a luxury suite at Cedars-Sinai that reportedly cost at least $4,000 a night and included all the items necessary to give birth...you know, things like three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a huge bathtub, a personal doula, free meal delivery service, and dressing gowns. And oh yeah, there was a crib in there, too! As Kim would say...LOL! Hollee Actman Becker is a freelance writer, blogger, and a mom.
