Home renovation pros Chip and Joanna Gaines are ridiculously lovable on their HGTV show Fixer Upper. And when the cameras aren't rolling, the reality stars are adorable with one another -- in great part, because they prioritize their relationship above anything else. In a recent interview with Success magazine, Chip opened up about their relationship dynamic.
"Obviously Jo and I as a couple, we just don't want to redline," Chip said. "You know, we don't want to run so hard after some dream or some goal only to find out that we've neglected the thing that means the very most to us, which is our marriage and our relationship."
Surely, with their busy shooting schedule, a variety of work and entrepreneurial projects, and four kids, it's wise for the Gaines to continually remind themselves to spend time on maintaining, if not bolstering, their bond.
"People ask all the time, 'How do y'all have such a great marriage, and what's the secret?'" Chip said. "There's no secret. It's hard work. Jo and I have struggles and fighting and arguments just like anybody else. This isn't like we got lucky and hit the lottery, and the two perfect people fell in love."
Sounds as smart as it does sweet. The fact that these two are willing to do that hard work for one another is romantic in and of itself. As if HGTV fans needed one more thing about the Gaines to adore!
