Rosie Pope Gets Personal

Rosie Pope dishes about her top parenting pet peeve, how she stays organized, and why she loves being a mom.

I'm Rosie Pope and I'm a contributing editor to Parents Magazine and I'm here to answer some of your questions. What my biggest parenting pet peeve is the fact that my kids will not stand still when I'm getting dressed. The baby squirms around, my toddler runs everywhere, and my 4-year-old constantly complains that his pants don't feel nice or comfortable. I think it probably takes me about 30 minutes to 40 minutes to get him dressed and then again for bath and then again in pajamas. It drives me absolutely crazy. I just stay really organized, having 3 kids and also running a big business. Basically, I write myself calendar reminders in my outlet reminder book everyday to take a shower, to remind me to get my oldest son sneakers for sports. It's not that I think I'm gonna forget to take a shower. But if I start thinking about when I'm gonna fit in the shower, I start obsessing about it and then I can't fit this. So, I put it in my calendar reminder so I know it will come up later in the day and then I know I can make about it then. I think it's really important to try and unwind after the kids get to bed. But to be honest, it's not always possible. Sometimes, you have a lot of things to do whether it'd be work or laundry. I always make sure the kids are in bed by 7:00 or 8:00 o'clock and would stick [unk] for bedtime. And then to be completely honest, I [unk] a glass of white wine. I love being a mom and I find the whole experience really awesome, a true sense of the word and I find them how crazy or disappointing or difficult a day can be. When I see my kids and they're happy and healthy, it makes everything be put in perspective and it makes me feel like the luckiest person on Earth. My grossest mommy moment was probably when I went to work I could smell like stench and I was leaning down and I caught a glance of my bra and there was like some dry spit up all in my boobs and probably the grossest part about it was it didn't even freak me out. I just wiped it up and went on with my day.
