The new Hagrid-themed roller coaster opens in June 2019 within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Seriously, can someone please create a spell to send us to Orlando on opening day?

A Harry Potter-themed roller coaster will launch at Universal Orlando Resort on June 13 (that’s a Thursday in case you are already putting it in your calendar like us). The image Universal released today shows that it will be named Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventures—and one rider in each row will score the motorcycle seat! It’ll be in the Hogsmeade section of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.

That’s pretty much all that Universal has announced. But theme-park insiders who've seen the coaster’s construction first-hand, spilled a little more tea to get us even more excited.

Here are five things you need to know:

1. It’s indoors and outdoors.

The loading station for the ride will be indoors, according to Robert Niles, editor of themeparkinsider.com. He also notes that the outdoor portion of the ride travels through a mythical forest.

“Universal has been planting trees like crazy,” he says.

2. It likely has multiple starts and stops.

“Based on looking at the track and comparing it to others built by Intamin, we can confidently say there are multiple launches, both forwards and backward,” reveals Seth Kubersky, author of The Unofficial Guide to Universal Orlando 2019.

3. The whole fam can ride.

No official word on the height requirements, but Kubersky believes, “This ride should really hit the sweet spot between having the physical twists and turns that thrill teens, while still being accessible to older and younger family members.” The only problem he foresees: Who gets to drive the motorcycle, and who sits in the sidecar?  #Same

4. So. Much. Theming.

Kubersky is expecting an elaborate mix of special effects and animatronic figures (with minimal use of video screens) to bring some familiar members of Hagrid's menagerie to life.

“Signs point to encounters with the Blast-Ended Skrewt, Fluffy the Three-Headed Dog, and the infamous Devil's Snare, from which the only escape is straight down,” he says. Remember all of them? There’s plenty of time to start re-reading the series!

5. The experts are impressed.

If reviewing theme parks is your job, you may be more critical of rides than regular guests. Niles, however, gushes:  “I've seen some of the plans as well as construction photos from inside the show buildings. It looks like it might be the most visually amazing roller coaster ever built.”
