Christmas is still 78 days away. (Although, if you're like us, you've been thinking about your holiday plans all summer long.) And while the season hasn't officially started, you can cross one to-do off your list: picking out a Christmas tree.
This year, live full-sized Christmas trees will be made available for purchase on Amazon. Online shoppers may choose from a range of tree varieties: Balsam firs to Black Hills spruces—upwards of six and seven feet tall. A seven-foot Balsam fir (sourced from a North Carolina farm) will go for $100. The tree will ship in a large box within four to seven days from the day of cutting, and include a bag for mess-free removal once the holiday season is over. And, ta-da!, a Christmas tree freshly cut from the farm will arrive right to your front door.
THE BALSAM FIR
This tree stands at six to seven feet tall. Balsam firs are the quintessential tree for Christmas, and for good reason. These trees feature a symmetrical spire-like crown and dark green evergreen needles that give off a pleasant spicy fragrance that many of us associate with Christmas. A tree stand is not included. ($99.99)
THE BLACK HILLS SPRUCE
Dark green and blue-green needles are arranged on the branches of a Black Hills spruce tree. These trees generally require very little pruning and are another favorite for Christmas. You will need to purchase your own tree stand separately for this six or seven foot tall tree. ($99.99)
THE BLACK HILLS SPRUCE SNOW-TIPPED
At only three to four feet tall, this Christmas tree makes a big impression. It has the beauty of natural Black Hills Spruce in a smaller size and comes adorned with artificial snow for a festive welcoming. ($59.99)
Christmas trees will be available for order beginning on Monday, October 15. Trees will be shipped starting on November 23 in time for the holidays. Amazon sold smaller live Christmas trees last year, but this marks the first season the online retail giant will offer full-sized trees. Wreaths, garlands, and other decorative greenery will also be sold as part of the offerings. Now, you can enjoy the fragrance and beauty of fresh-cut Christmas trees without ever having to leave your home. (Bonus: Amazon Prime members can have their trees shipped to their homes for free!) And while Christmas is still two months away, why not get into the holiday spirit early? After all, those who put up their Christmas decorations early are more likely to be happy. So go ahead: get merry.
