Heidi Klum Says Her Daughter Gave Her Lice

Even supermodels get lice! And then they get ribbed about their hygeine.

Pop quiz: What's the one four-letter word that can strike fear into the heart of any mom? No, we're not talking about puke (although that is pretty bad). It's lice, the tiny critters that mean life as you know it in your house is about to change, and not for the better.

Many a mom has detected the pesky pests on the heads of their babes, or worse, had a school nurse deliver the bomb that Junior's not welcome back at school until you get rid of his tresses' new tenants. Even supermodels have to deal with infestations, Heidi Klum revealed on Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"My daughter was itching and then she had to go to the nurse and then they looked and sure enough they found a little egg," the gorgeous mom-of-four told DeGeneres.

And it wasn't just Klum's daughter who ended up scratching her head; the lice spread to the former Victoria's Secret model herself! Talk about no fun.

To make matters worse, DeGeneres decided to rub salt in Klum's figurative wound, asking whether she bathes.

"Yeah, of course we do!" Klum replied indignantly.

Hey, don't worry Heidi. You aren't the first mom to find yourself at the receiving end of false assumptions about lice (even if it was a joke!) There's definitely that stereotype that if your child gets lice, he or she is dirty. But even sharing a hat with another kid at school can spread the infestation.

The best you can do is try to educate your children about how to avoid getting lice. And if the worst happens, and your kiddo's head is taken hostage by those evil little bugs, know you aren't alone!
