Easter Egg Decorating Ideas

String Wrap

What You'll Need:

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Egg dye or food coloring
  • String
  • Scissors

Make it:

  1. Dye eggs a light color; let dry.
  2. Wrap and tie string around each egg and dye again in a darker shade.
  3. Remove string after both the eggs and the string are completely dry.

Leaf Print

What You'll Need:

  • Glue
  • Small leaves
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Pantyhose
  • Rubber band
  • Egg dye or food coloring

Make it:

  1. Apply a light dab of glue to leaf and adhere to egg surface.
  2. Wrap egg tightly with pantyhose and rubber-band or knot on the back to keep taut.
  3. Submerge egg in dye until depth of color is achieved.
  4. Remove egg from dye, carefully pull off stocking, and discard the leaf right away; let dry.

Glue Resist

What You'll Need:

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Egg dye or food coloring
  • Fabric glue (MagnaTac)

Make it:

  1. Dye eggs a light color; let dry.
  2. Squeeze fabric glue onto egg in thick stripes or desired design, then place in a darker shade.
  3. Once depth of color is achieved, remove egg from dye. Let dry, then carefully peel the glue off the egg.
