Ground Control to Captain Robbie! Big Brother Takes Sibling With Special Needs on Flight of a Lifetime
A boy with special needs took a fun flight with his big brother Michael piloting their two-seater plane.
Michael McMahon's little brother Robbie has Williams Syndrome (WS), which can cause cardiovascular disease, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. But that didn't stop Michael from taking Robbie on the flight of a lifetime!
"I had the honor of taking him flying which was a massive thing for Robbie," Michael captioned a YouTube video of the siblings' high-flying adventure. And yes, Michael was the pilot!
The touching five-minute clip, which has been viewed more than 55,000 times, opens with the duo getting ready for takeoff. As the plane accelerates, Robbie's excitement is palpable. "We're flying!" he calls out through his headset microphone, unable to wipe a giant grin off his adorable face.
Michael is a doting big brother, singing to Robbie mid-air, and ensuring that he's basically having the best experience ever. Adding to the fun was that messages coming through the radio were addressed to "Captain Robbie."
Like any kid, Robbie also had his next meal on his mind and was sure to ask Michael if they'd eat dinner upon landing. He also sweetly crooned that he loved his brother.
At the end of the video, we see Robbie is riveted with the landing, which big brother Michael nails.
"I'm back!" Robbie announces.
Here's hoping his best day ever continued with the dinner of his dreams!
