It's a happy, happy day for Giuliana and Bill Rancic! The couple, who first experienced infertility and miscarriage, and then endured Giuliana's treatment for breast cancer, have announced that their son was born last night in Denver via gestational surrogate.
Edward Duke Rancic was born at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday and weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces, E! Online reports.
Here's more details from E! Online:
"Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives," Giuliana tells E! News exclusively. "Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already!"
The couple exclusively tells E! News that labor was just over four hours and went smoothly and relatively quickly. Both Bill and Giuliana were in the delivery room for the entire birth of their baby. They couldn't hold back tears of joy the moment their son was born. The Rancics told us they were beyond elated and couldn't believe their journey to become parents is finally complete.
Bill cut the umbilical cord minutes after the baby was born, and Giuliana was the first to hold her son for a long while, then gave him to Bill to embrace. The new parents both fed their baby, who they say had a big appetite, and share with us that he is doing incredibly well and has had his first bath.
Giuliana, the host of E! News, and Bill, a businessman who won the first season of the reality show "The Apprentice," have documented their journey as a married couple on the Style Network reality series "Giuliana and Bill."
