The popular restaurant chain wants to help parents sneak veggies into their kids' next meal out.

Eating out with your kiddos can be challenging. You want to make sure they're chowing down on something healthy, and if they have certain allergies (like to gluten, dairy, or nuts!), that's a whole different ballgame. Thankfully, more and more restaurants are eager to accommodate kids' nutritional needs, and you can count California Pizza Kitchen among them, as the national chain just launched the first-ever kids' menu cauliflower pizza crust.

The addition to the chain's offerings comes on the heels of its adult-sized version of cauliflower crust pizza, which was introduced back in January and seen as a boon for low-carb, gluten-free, and health-conscious restaurant-goers. The crust is made with gluten-free ingredients and, of course, being that it is made with cauliflower, is a cool way to sneak veggies into a meal.

“The reception to our Cauliflower Pizza Crust has been incredible, and we are so proud to be able to now offer this trend-setting innovation as a part of our CPKids menu,” said Brian Sullivan, SVP of Culinary Innovation at CPK. “As a parent myself, I know that trying to get kids to eat vegetables can be a real challenge when all they want to eat is pizza. This delicious new veggie-based crust is a win-win!”

L.O.s under 10 can order the new pizza as part of the CPKids meals, which include a choice of fountain beverage, lemonade, apple juice, milk or chocolate milk. Here's hoping this new addition only fuels other restaurants' healthy options for parents and kids alike.
