First of all, fever is a good thing. It's your body's natural response to help fight infection. We consider fever to begin at a rectal temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Usually, children can tolerate low- grade fevers well without any significant change in their activity level, eating, or sleeping. If your child is starting to act sick with fever, this is usually indication to treat it.
