Pixar Is Taking Over Disneyland & You Don't Want to Miss It
Disney doesn't take their slogan "Where Dreams Come True" lightly. Now, you can experience life inside some of your favorite animated movies.
You're going to want to break into the vacation fund, because Disneyland is promising us 'infinity and beyond' with their latest announcement. April 13, 2018 marks the start of both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure's first ever Pixar Fest! Yep, the limited-run festival is an opportunity for you and your family can celebrate all the nostalgic Pixar magic you love. And that's not even the best part.
According to a press release from Disney, Pixar Fest will feature a brand-new, Pixar-themed fireworks show called "Together Forever," Pixar merchandise, the “Paint the Night” parade, the “Pixar Play Parade," themed decor, food, and entertainment. In other words, this is the first time ever you'll be able to see Pixar classics come to life right before your eyes.
On the site, Disney further describes the show: "Guests are invited to embark on an emotional journey that starts when unlikely Pixar characters first meet. As they set out on adventures and overcome obstacles together, 'Together Forever' celebrates the everlasting friendships forged by beloved Pixar pals. The story comes to life through projections on iconic park locations: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. This nighttime spectacular will even feature a special flyover by Buzz Lightyear at Sleeping Beauty Castle."
What's more, Disneyland has officially announced they will be adding Pixar Pier to the iconic theme-park this coming summer. The pier currently known as Paradise Pier is getting a permanent makeover that will open exclusively for Pixar Fest.
"Summer 2018 will bring a transformed land for guests to experience at Disney California Adventure park when Pixar Pier opens along the southern shore of Paradise Bay, with newly themed attractions, foods and merchandise throughout," Disney reports in a separate release.
Pixar Pier will be split up into four neighborhoods: The Incredibles Neighborhood, Toy Story Neighborhood, Inside Out Neighborhood, and Pixar Stories Neighborhood. Each neighborhood is promising some major theme-park attractions, such as the new Incredicoaster and makeovers of Mikey's Fun Wheel, Ariel's Grotto restaurant, and the Cove Bar.
Formerly beloved attractions such as Paradise Gardens, Silly Symphony Swings, Jumpin' Jellyfish, Goofy's Sky School, Golden Zephyr, and The Little Mermaid—Ariel's Undersea Adventure—will stay intact under the name "Paradise Park."
Pixar Fest, Pixar Pier, and Paradise Park! This is a win, win, win situation that gives us all another excuse to take off work and live our best lives. After all, if we can trust anyone to wow us, it's Disney.
