Party of the Month: Flying High
Laura, a talented graphic designer, made these adorable boarding-pass invitations for the party. You can buy them from her new online shop at littlefrills.com
The kids gathered for a new take on a classic party game: pin the propeller on the airplane.
In addition to cake, Laura made sugar cookies in the shape of planes and clouds.
A photo-garland of 12 images hung on the wall--one from each month of Jaxon's first year.
As each child arrived, he had his picture taken for his "official" passport.
The dining area was decorated with brown butcher paper, red balloons, and homemade party hats to match the décor. Jaxon's father, Thomas, bought balsa-wood planes for the center of the table.
The centerpiece of the dessert table was a two-tiered cake perched on top of a red suitcase. Colorful confetti was sprinkled around plates of red, white, and blue cookies.
Before departure, each guest went to Baggage Claim to pick up his suitcase favor filled with treats.
