Stretchy Band Exercises for Kids
Shape up and get active with the help of a simple homemade fabric band.
A super-size stretch band will exercise your child's limbs -- and her brain -- as she pulls and twists it into one geometric shape after another. You can make one of these bands in just a few minutes, no sewing required, then your child can use it again and again. Get her going by downloading our card deck of prompts below.
To make a band, cut two lengths of stretchy, knit fabric (we used a poly blend) into 4- by 45-inch strips. Snip a 2½-inch slit into the ends of each, then tie them as shown. Join each end of the strips with two knots for a more secure hold.
