Favors with LEFT TWIX®

With all these ghosts milling about between this world and the next, we’re making ghostly party favors with TWIX® for those spirits who need to pick a side already!

Instructions

  • 1Cut out two oval shapes from cardstock. Ours are around 2.5 X 1.75 inches. Tape them together at the two short edges and one long edge, creating a sleeve. Slide it onto the top of a LEFT TWIX® bar, and tape down.
  • 2Crumple two coffee filters together to create a ball, and tape it over the front cardstock shape.
  • 3Fold a coffee filter about an inch off center and wrap it around the bottom of the LEFT TWIX® bar, revealing the double ruffle edge. Secure with tape.
  • 4Cut a slit in a coffee filter and slide it over the “head” to create the arms and torso. Secure front and back of the slit to the head with tape.
  • 5Center an additional coffee filter over the head. Secure it with a rubber band.
  • 6Use glue dots to attach the googly eyes and a cut-out paper mouth.

Quick Tips

Make sure no smile is LEFT behind when you design your ghosts’ faces! You can use glue or glue dots, make paper eyes, or even add some features with a marker. It doesn’t have to just be googly eyes!

Quick Tips

Visiting the side of the living is a lot of work for a spirit! Tie a grosgrain ribbon around the ghost’s neck to create a windswept look of a spirit in a hurry. Its rigidity will help fashion the effect.

Quick Tips

Use monofilament tied to the ribbon to hang your favor. If you need to get particular with its positioning, use a curved upholstery needle to thread the monofilament through the back of the head.

Choose TWIX® this Halloween and you’ll quickly have no party favors LEFT!

ATTACH THE
GOOGLY EYES

Quick Tips

Every way to make a face is the RIGHT way! If you don't have googly eyes, you can draw them on with a Sharpie, or even cut out paper shapes and attach them with glue or glue dots. If you're using craft glue, try a small paintbrush to apply the glue to the little details.

Quick Tips

Go for grosgrain ribbon; it's a little bit rigid and helps create that windswept effect that mimics a spirit floating on by. Use sharp scissors to cut the ribbon ends at an angle, and you won't have any frayed ends.

Quick Tips

If you're hanging up your ghosts, and you really want to finesse their positioning, you can use a curved upholstery needle to thread monofilament through the back of the head. Securing the ghosts by two strands of monofilament will give you more control of the position.

Choose TWIX® this Halloween and end up on the RIGHT side of the veil.
