LEFT TWIX® DIY Halloween
Superhero Cuff

This Halloween, add flourishes like these DIY Superhero Cuffs to your child’s homemade costume with a little help from TWIX®, and get them ready to unleash their powers to the world.

Instructions

  • 1Make a quick template by cutting a rectangle sized to your superhero’s forearm from thick paper. Ours measures 5.75 X 2.5 inches. Find the center of the long side and cut a pointed shape with scissors.
  • 2Use your template to create 4 white cardstock rectangles.
  • 3Trim a half-inch strip off the bottom of 2 of your white shapes. These will be the interior of the cuffs.
  • 4Apply double-sided tape around edges of an untrimmed white cardstock piece, centering the tape along the edge so you can fold it over later in the process. Trim any excess tape.
  • 5Trim LEFT TWIX® wrapper just above the barcode.
  • 6Align the newly trimmed edge with the bottom edge of the tape.
  • 7Press and smooth the wrapper over the tape. Trim excess wrapper from the top two edges. Fold the sticky edges around the cardstock and press to secure.
  • 8Apply double-stick tape around a white cardstock piece you trimmed in step 3. Keep the edge of the tape aligned with the edge of the cardstock. Stick that to the back of the wrapper-covered piece.
  • 9Punch a hole in each of the 4 bottom corners. We used a ¼-inch hole punch.
  • 10Thread a string through the holes and fasten the cuff to your superhero’s wrist. We used an elastic red cord, but you can use a string instead.

Quick Tips

While we’re all about choosing “sides” with LEFT and RIGHT TWIX®, we sure do love double-sided tape! Sticking the white panel on the back keeps the inside of the cuff looking tidy, but if you only have one-sided tape, no one will see the inside anyway!

Quick Tips

To make the holes, use a ¼-inch hole punch. Don't have one? Try an awl or even a pin to pierce the cuff.

Quick Tips

This example uses an elastic red cord to fasten the cuff, but you can use any type of string or ribbon. Just tie it in a bow to fasten!

No one is LEFT behind with your little TWIX®-powered Candy Hero to the rescue!

Instructions

  • 1Make a quick template by cutting a rectangle sized to your superhero’s forearm from stiff paper. Ours measures 5.75 X 2.5 inches. Find the middle of the long side and use scissors to cut a pointed shape.
  • 2Use your template to create 4 red paper rectangles.
  • 3Cut a half-inch strip off the bottom of 2 of your red shapes. These will be the interior of the cuffs.
  • 4Apply double-sided tape around edges of one untrimmed red cardstock piece, centering the tape along the edge so you can fold it over later in the process. Trim any excess tape.
  • 5Trim RIGHT TWIX® wrapper just above the barcode.
  • 6Align the freshly trimmed edge with the bottom edge of the tape.
  • 7Push and burnish the wrapper over the tape. Trim extra wrapper from the top two edges. Fold adhesive edges around the cardstock and press to secure.
  • 8Place double-stick tape around a red cardstock piece you trimmed in step 3. Keep the edge of the tape flush with the edge of the cardstock. Stick it to the back of the wrapper-covered piece.
  • 9Punch a hole in each of the 4 bottom corners. We used a ¼-inch hole punch.
  • 10Thread a cord through the holes and fasten the cuff to your superhero’s wrist. We used a stretchy red cord, but you can use a string instead.

Quick Tips

The RIGHT way to make your cuff is to neatly place the red panel inside with double-sided tape to keep the cuff looking tidy. No double-sided tape? No problem! Use what you have. It won't look as clean on the inside, but nobody will see that anyway!

Quick Tips

Use an awl or even a pin to pierce the cuff and make your holes, but a ¼-inch hole punch is your best bet for a neat finish.
