Candice W. Jones, MD FAAP

Experience

Candice Jones, MD began her pediatric career in 2006. As a pediatrician, she calls herself "auntie" within the families she serves. She provides comprehensive care for children from birth to young adulthood. 

Candice is an Author and Spokesperson with the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her book, High Five Discipline: Positive Parenting for Happy, Healthy, Well-Behaved Kids, is a positive parenting approach to discipline highlighting her High Five Essentials and the creation of a Family Discipline Plan. She's also the host of the KIDing Around with Dr. Candice Podcast where she interviews other pediatric experts to raise awareness and educate about topics relevant to children's health. She has been featured on numerous local and national news, radio, and digital outlets, as well as on various health panels and as a guest speaker.

Candice is committed to the health and well-being of underserved children and adolescents in areas affected the greatest by health inequalities. She steps out of the exam room to support various non-profit organizations, children's health initiatives and to promote wellness in the community. For her efforts, in 2018 she was awarded the Health Empowerment Award by the Central Florida Urban League, the Public Health Hero Award by the Department of Health Orange County, and in 2020 the Orange County Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award.

Candice is a part-time instructor with Valencia College's Peace and Justice Institute. She facilitates workshops on Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences. She is a member of the Creating a Resilient Community Network, which is a multisector group in Central Florida dedicated to raising awareness about PACES and creating a community of hope, prevention, healing, and resilience.
