How I Lost the Baby Weight: Getting into a Routine

Alicia shares how she got rid of her excuses and started motivating herself to get fit after the birth of her son.


When I was 23-years-old, I was in college. I thought I was in shape. [LAUGH] And eating Taco Bell, and McDonald's, and going out to bars with my friends. And then, I found out that I was pregnant. I ended up gaining about 40 pounds. With my son Andre I lost about 30 and so I was about ten pounds heavier bef, than before I got pregnant. You know, in my mind I, you think like oh, you know, I'm a mom now. I had a baby so ten pounds really isn't that much different. I finally just stopped with the excuses and started getting real about working out. Got on line and I looked up you know an Ab video and a **** video and you know an arm video. It takes me, oh gosh, 45 minutes to an hour to go through all of my workout. And I can just do 'em when my boys are upstairs in bed sleeping. I, put on my bikini and I take a picture of myself in it and I put it side by side of where I was eight months ago, and that change, seeing how far I've gone. Is really the only motivation that I've had and it's kept me going. Me changing my body and me being happy with myself. I wouldn't change anything for it.
