Why isn't my 9-month old son holding his own bottle yet?
Q: Please help!
A: It’s worth taking your son to his pediatrician for a checkup, and telling the pediatrician about your concern. At nine months, most babies are interested in holding their own bottles, and the fact that your son isn’t doing this yet could be an indication that he’s lagging a bit behind developmentally. On the other hand, it could be that your son just enjoys kicking back and letting you do all the work of holding his bottle while he’s eating! You’ll feel better knowing for sure, so I’d recommend making an appointment with your pediatrician sooner rather than later.
