The pair announced their pregnancy—after publicly battling infertility—via Instagram, where Teigen posted a sweet candid shot of the two of them hanging on the couch, Legend's hand hovering over her barely-there bump. "John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :)," she captioned the photo. "As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx"
Legend has definitely taken the "belly touching" comment to heart, placing his palm protectively over the burgeoning babe at every opportunity, from the Grammys red carpet to the Oscars.
Then, over on Twitter, she admitted:
Just look at her rocking that pregnancy glow on vacation:
And happily introducing the world to her "new thighs":
The first was princess-themed, and had the supermodel and her man sporting "baby mama" and "baby daddy" crowns, respectively.
The second was a bash hosted by the Kardashians in Kimye's LA mansion. McDonald's breakfast food was served (Teigen is a big fan), and the celeb attendees documented just about every second on social media, sending our #FOMO to a whole new level.
Speaking of the K clan, Teigen has been spotted maternity shopping with Kim and hubby Kanye. "She told me to go stretchy," Teigen told InStyle Australia. "I always wanted to be the person who showed off the bump because it looks beautiful and I think you should embrace it. Kim does that well and I love seeing that belly of hers and I know Kanye does too—we're lucky to be with men who find pregnancy sexy."
The book, which dropped in February, spotlights recipes for comfort foods by Teigen and her loved ones, from John's famous fried chicken with spicy honey butter to her mom's Thai classics—and there's even a recipe for Frito pie.
On morning sickness:
And "sexy" bleeding gums:
"John and I were having trouble," Teigen admitted during an episode of "FABLife" with Tyra Banks. "We would have had kids five, six years ago if it had happened. But my gosh, it's been a process."
Since getting pregnant, Teigen has been open about her journey using IVF to conceive. When the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue came out earlier this year, Teigen (who looks ridiculously gorgeous in its pages) told People magazine she was actually doing IVF shots during the photo shoot. "I was getting my shots and everything in Zanzibar, I had a little medical kit. It was hard because you bloat from it, and you bruise—if I hit the wrong area. That's the kind of things we had to cover with makeup," the supermodel said.
During an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," Teigen told the host that her hubby is hesitant about her name choice, but Barack is on her side! "I asked President Obama if he liked one of our name choices, and he said he did," Teigen said. "But then I realized I should have came up with two so he could pick one, because you know, you gotta be nice about it."
Before that, Legend revealed on the Grammys red carpet that the President had given him some sweet parenting advice: "He just said, 'Be prepared to be wrapped around their little finger as their dad.'"
