You Have to See This Postpartum Mom's 'Diaper Selfie'

Hello, postpartum body in all your gory glory!

I just love this woman so much! Amanda Bacon—how awesome is that name, by the way?—just went where no other postpartum lady has gone before. She shared a picture on Facebook after giving birth that perfectly showcases new motherhood in all its glam and glory.

Or gory, as the case may be. Because while her husband happily cradles their little baby boy in the foreground of the shot, Bacon is just nonchalantly rocking a giant pair of mesh underwear with a big, fat pad inside in the background.

And OMG remember those?

"Motherhood uncensored," she wrote in the caption. "I'm sharing this picture because it's real. This is motherhood; it's raw, stunning, messy, and freaking hilarious all rolled into one. Having a baby is a beautiful experience. And the realities of postpartum life aren't spoken enough about. And definitely not photographed enough."

So true!

Bacon then went on to say that she doesn't understand why us mamas find it so hard to talk honestly about this kind of stuff. "I seriously don't get it!" she wrote. "We all should try and educate, empower and embrace every aspect of childbirth, including moments like this. And do it while having a sense of humor. Nothing says welcome to motherhood like an adorable squishy baby, and a giant mom diaper."

Totally calling it that from now on.

Meanwhile, thanks to her brutal honesty, Bacon's post has now gone viral—with close to 120,000 shares and 96,000-plus comments. And the candid mom says she hopes it will serve as a reminder to all of us to keep the straight-up conversation, you know, flowing.

"Women shouldn't take themselves so seriously after childbirth and should enjoy their bodies and enjoy every aspect of having a baby, even the gross postpartum bits," she explained to Self. "It's all just par for the course, and it's all really a neat part of the whole experience."

I don't know if "neat" is the exact word I'd choose for it. But still—we are loving the comical reality check and just about everything this legit mama stands for.

Well done, Bacon, well done.

Sorry, you guys, I had to do it.
