Got a thing for cute dogs and napping babies? Then let us introduce you to your new favorite Instagram account. It's called @wellettas. But what the name doesn't tell you is that much of the feed is devoted to adorable pictures of a baby boy named Archie spooning with one of his family's three rescue dogs, an English Pointer named Nora.
Have you ever seen anything sweeter?
According to mom Elizabeth Spence, who is responsible for snapping the amazing pics and running the now-viral account, the family adopted Nora seven years ago from a rescue shelter, where she had been surrendered pregnant from a puppy mill. Once little Archie came along a little less than a year ago, the pair just naturally started napping together in the family bed.
"With my eldest two at their granny and pop's place all afternoon, I imagine I should be using this opportunity to get that mountain of laundry dealt with (you know the one!)," Spence captioned the above image. "But instead I'm sitting in bed drinking tea and watching these two get their afternoon nap on. I seriously can't get enough of them and the strong connection they've made in such a short period of time!"
Neither can we!
And while Nora had a rough start to life and is terrified of absolutely everything, Spence told The Dodo she took an immediate liking to 11-month-old Archie, following him around everywhere like, well, a puppy dog.
"If Archie is having a bath, Nora is lying on the bath mat waiting for him to get out," she said. "If I'm nursing him she wants up on my lap, too. If he's going through my cupboards throwing all the dishes on the floor, she'll be there cheering him on."
Simply amazing! We can't help but fall in love with these two, though it's important to remember that dogs and babies should always be closely supervised. To that end, Spence says she and her husband taught their three kids from a very young age to respect the dogs and to treat them well, and now the animals completely trust them. Still, she admits that the bond between Archie and Nora is both special and rare.
"I can't recall ever seeing a dog dote on a person as much as Nora does on our boy Archie," the proud mama wrote in the caption of this striking black-and-white image. Their relationship is truly one for the books."
