Need a pick-me-up today? Look no further than Lachlan Lever. When this Australian baby was a mere 4 weeks old, doctors discovered he had significant hearing loss in both ears. The news shattered mom Michelle, who told the Daily Mail that she "cried for 12 hours straight. I was so worried about what the future would hold for our son."
But the grim outlook did a complete 180 three weeks later, when the infant was fitted with his first hearing aid and could finally hear for the first time. In fact, Lachlan's sweet face lit up and he broke into a big smile the second he heard his parents' voices. "When they turned the headphones on and Lachlan smiled and his face lit up, it was the most magical thing I'd ever seen in my life," Michelle said. "I had never been more happy in my life."
Thankfully, the miracle moment was recorded, and the video, first filmed in 2012, has recently gone viral -- as of this morning, it had nearly 3.8 million views (a good six of which are from me). It joins other aww-worthy videos, like this one of baby Jonathan hearing his mom for the first time. Lachlan's parents said they burst into tears when they realized their baby could hear, and my bet is you'll do the same -- or at least get a good case of goose bumps.

Despite his early hearing loss, Lachlan Lever, now 2, is on par with all the major developmental milestones.
