A new video from UNICEF proves no matter who you are, and no matter where you live, all parents want the same things for their children:
To be the best parents they can be.
For their kids to have everything they didn't have.
To do anything and everything for their kids so they are happy, and know they are loved.
This sweet new video was released today, Valentine's Day, to honor the greatest love of all (yeah, I have the Whitney Houston song stuck in my head now, too), which is the love between young children and their parents.
Like the parents in Belize in the video, I too felt like my life changed forever once I became a parent. I too wouldn't change being a parent for the world. And I too realize what an extraordinary responsibility it is to be a parent.
The ultimate message is that early childhood has lifelong implications. So what you do now with your kids is going to affect them, well, forever. In fact, according to the press release, loving interactions between young kids and their caregivers has a profound impact on many aspects of development, including that of overall brain health and cognitive, social, and emotional well-being.
So not that you needed this reminder: But love on your kids today!
Another important takeaway for me from the UNICEF video: Parents are far more alike than they are different.
