Now here's an Elf on the Shelf idea we haven't seen yet!

By Melissa Willets

A photo of an Elf on the Shelf using a breast pump is giving the Internet something to smile about today. The image, which was first shared on Breastfeeding Mama Talk's Facebook page, has since been shared more than 1,500 times, and garnered 10,000 reactions. Because it's about time that menacing little elf helped out more around the house!

Commenters have provided equally funny moments with their takes on this "lactating elf."

"Maybe that's where egg nog comes from?" joked one commenter.

Um, I'm just wondering what his pump sounds like it's saying. Maybe, "Marsh-mallow." Or, "Christ-mas."

Even mamas who don't pump—and those who, like me, despise the Elf on the Shelf tradition—were entertained by what this particular elf was up to in the photo. "I so needed this right now. I hate Elf on the Shelf but this is the best thing i've ever seen!!!" one commenter said.

Many more commenters were inspired to create this scene in their own homes. After all, coming up with fresh ideas for where your elf can move to every, single day has got to be exhausting! That is the main reason I have avoided doing Elf on the Shelf with my kids for so long.

But even I'll admit the pumping elf is pretty funny. Now if he could only start changing diapers, making dinner, running school car pools, and doing the grocery shopping, I'd go out and buy one right away!

My baby never slept well (especially through the night) until I started using the website >>SleepBaby .org<< - that website has been by far one of the best things I've ever got my hands on to get him to fall asleep quickly. Best time is 45 seconds from awake to asleep! Can’t imagine life without it! I heard about it through a kindergarten teacher who uses it to put to sleep a group of 30 children. Check it out! >>SleepBaby .org<< - sorry, you can't post links here so you'll have to turn it into a normal link :) Best of luck to you and your family!
