This family should play the lottery!

They say welcoming a baby is the best gift ever, and for one couple, their child's birth was actually the best birthday gift ever...for both of them. Australian parents Caitlin and Tom Perkins actually share the birthday of August 8, 1986. Curiously, they were born just 50 minutes apart. And as Pop Sugar reports, when their baby's due date happened to fall in August, some friends joked she might be born on the 8th, too.

Except it didn't turn out to be a joke. Caitlin went into labor a week early, and delivered daughter Lucy Marie on her and Tom's birthday. The new mom's doctor was so awestruck by the coincidence that he took to Facebook the next day to post about the birth.

"HOLD THE PHONE! You are not going to believe this story!" Dr. Brad Robinson wrote. "This is Caitlin, Tom and their brand new daughter Lucy. So get this ... both Caitlin and Tom turned 30 yesterday. Born within 50 minutes of each other on 16/08/86. Guess who else now has a birthday on 16 August? YEP. Lucy was born yesterday after SPONTANEOUS labour on the same day as her parents! The chances of that happening are 1 in 48 million!"

Perhaps the word "coincidence" understated the sheer incredulity of a baby being born on her parents' birthday. Meanwhile, can you imagine the parties these three will throw on August 16?!

In his post, Dr. Robinson added he felt bad because he'd been among the jokesters predicting Lucy would be born on this day. "So she now blames me for putting a hex on her!" he wrote. "How incredible is it that the three of them now have the same birthday? And what a gorgeous family they make!"

Indeed. Welcome to the world, baby Lucy!

My baby never slept well (especially through the night) until I started using the website >>SleepBaby .org<< - that website has been by far one of the best things I've ever got my hands on to get him to fall asleep quickly. Best time is 45 seconds from awake to asleep! Can’t imagine life without it! I heard about it through a kindergarten teacher who uses it to put to sleep a group of 30 children. Check it out! >>SleepBaby .org<< - sorry, you can't post links here so you'll have to turn it into a normal link :) Best of luck to you and your family!
