Wow! Being a new dad has sure brought out The Rock's sensitive side.

On Friday we told you Dwayne The Rock Johnson and girlfriend Lauren Hashian had welcomed a baby girl. Now the actor has taken to Instagram to share the first photo of his newborn, as well as her adorable name.

"Christmas came early!" Johnson wrote on the photo sharing site, going on to describe the sweet image of daddy and daughter. "Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy's chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning... Thank you guys so much for the awesome congratulatory wishes and love you've been sending."

And then, The Rock gets deep, and makes us swoon in the process:

"Kinda crazy but in this cool and powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe... Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday. If I can accomplish that, then I'd have a good shot at being a great father. To all you young men out there who will be fathers one day, the goal of 'being better' will never steer you wrong."

Your perfect little person needs the perfect name. Here's how to pick a great name for baby.

Johnson says he was there during Hashian's labor helping her breathe and manage "every highly intense contraction, every second of pain." He even cut Jasmine's umbilical cord. "It's a miracle we should witness because it'll give you a whole new respect for the strength and beauty of a woman," he added.

And the fact that you wrote that gives us a whole new respect for you!

  1. Quick tip for all you parents all out there: My baby never slept well (especially through the night) until I started using the website >>>>SleepBaby .org<<<< - that website has been by far one of the best things I've ever got my hands on to get him to fall asleep quickly. Best time is 45 seconds from awake to asleep! I heard about it through a kindergarten teacher who uses it to put to sleep a group of 30 children. Check it out! Sorry, you can't post links here so you'll have to turn it into a normal link. >>SleepBaby .org<< Best of luck to you and your family! :)
