Raising Quintuplets May Not Be Serene, But Their Baby Photos Are!
Remember Kim Tucci? She's the Australian mom-of-two who tried for almost a year for a third child, before finding out she was pregnant with quintuplets—naturally!
Carrying five babies is no picnic, and throughout her pregnancy, Tucci detailed her struggles with things like back pain, nausea, and numerous bathroom trips per night on her popular Facebook page "Surprised by Five," which currently has close to 250,000 followers.
At 24 weeks along, the proud mama-to-be turned to photographer Erin Elizabeth Hoskins to document her amazing journey and the stunning images blew up online.
We can see why!
Now Hoskins is back behind the lens, only this time it was to shoot the beautiful quintuplets themselves—Allie, Beatrix, Keith, Penelope, and Tiffany—who were born in January.
"Shooting five babies at once was FULL ON," Hoskins told us. "I never get phased by newborns, or even twins, but as soon as they all came in, I looked around and said, 'WOW, that is a lot of babies.' It was quite overwhelming! Luckily, I had great help with two photographers assisting me—Anja McDonald and Hayley Butler. I never would have had enough hands by myself!"
The resulting images are beautifully serene. And while Tucci has admitted in her posts that taking care of five babes has been both frantic and overwhelming, she says she and her husband Vaughn are the happiest they have ever been in their lives. "50 fingers, 50 toes, 6 hearts beating at once," Tucci wrote on Facebook. "My body fought the toughest of battles to get five babies here safely. Everything I did I did for them."
Fifty fingers and toes...can you even imagine trying to keep all those nails neat and tidy?! Still, Hoskins says Kim and Vaughn take it all in stride. "A life curve ball that would leave most of us crumpled on the floor leaves them calm, organized, and with quite a sense of humor about it all!" she told Parents. "They are such a wonderful couple, and it was a pleasure to meet them all."

She added that while the couple gets help on the daily from family and volunteers who pitch in to care for the quintuplets and shuffle them around to doctor's appointments, it is the family's dream to own a car that can actually fit all eight of their children (Kim has a 9-year-old son from a previous marriage, as well as two young daughters with husband Vaughn)—something most of us probably take for granted! "At the moment, they have to take three separate cars anytime they need to travel with the babies, which makes going anywhere as a family all but impossible," Hoskins explained. "I witnessed this first-hand when they arrived for their session...it was quite the epic ordeal!"
