Olympics, Here He Comes! Michael Phelps' Son Hits the Pool for the First Time
Olymic swimmer Michael Phelps and his fiance Nicole Johnson take their son Boomer for his first swim.
Looks like Boomer Phelps is gunning for a spot on Team USA in 2032!
The one-month-old son of Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps went swimming for the first time yesterday, and the future champ documented the whole thing over on his Instagram account—because don't all infants have those?
"I loved going in the pool today with @nicole.m.johnson (mommy) and @m_phelps00 (daddy)!," the little guy "wrote" next to a cute pic of the whole fam in the water. "Can't wait til I get to learn to swim from daddy and @coach_bowman!"
Coach Bowman is Phelps' trainer. Not a bad way to score swimming lessons!
Of course, Dad chronicled the big event over on his own Instagram, too.
"The little man loved the water today!!," he captioned the sweet pic of the duo in the pool. "And I got some extra laps in today!!"
Phelps and fiance Nicole Johnson welcomed the little guy on May 5, and he quickly gained fame by cheering on his Dad as he made history on June 28 at the Olympic Trials, becoming the first U.S. male swimmer to qualify for five Olympics.
And, of course, he featured that event on his Instagram feed, too. "Mom and I are excited to go watch dad tonight!!" Little Boomer captioned a pic of him with Johnson at the trials.
This kid is definitely ready for his close up, so be on the lookout for more adorable #TeamDaddy posts when the Rio Olympics begin August 5!
