Mom Who Thought She Was Pregnant With Twins Delivers 14-Pound Baby
Newborn Loyalty Adonis is nearly 2 feet tall and fits into clothes made for 3- to 6-month-old babies.
Louisiana mom LaQueena Hunter Grover thought she was pregnant with twins. But surprise! It was just one mighty-big baby inside that belly. Grover gave birth to a 14-pound baby in December, and says she is, understandably, done having kids.
"People would come up to me and say, 'Oh, I think that's twins or even triplets. Maybe there's another hiding behind one of the babies,'" the new mom-of-four told KTLA about reactions to her pregnant belly. (Because of course, every mom-to-be loves hearing random comments about her changing body during pregnancy!)
Grover's first two babies weighed about 7 pounds and her third weighed around 11. But when she delivered her son, Loyalty Adonis, she was shocked to learn he weighed 14 pounds and measured nearly 2 feet in height. She told WDSU, "I remember the nurse came running back and when she told me that, I swear, had I not been on the gurney already, I would've passed out right there when she said that."
Loyalty had to spend more than three weeks in the NICU but he is now home. And his mom says he is as happy and healthy as can be, although he acts like the Incredible Hulk when he doesn't get his way!
"He wears a size three Pamper. He's supposed to be in a size one as a newborn. He wears 3- to 6-month-old clothes and he wears some 6- to 9-month clothes. I put on him some shorts that were for 18-month-olds," Grover adds.
This mama is going to get one heck of an arm workout hauling her big boy around!
