Is This Baby Bouncer Hack Genius or Dangerous?

This baby bouncer hack involving a KitchenAid stand mixer has some people applauding the creativity behind it, while others are saying it's too dangerous.

Many parenting hacks are pure genius. This one involving a baby bouncy seat and an electric kitchen mixer may or may not fall under that category. In fact, after a gif of the hack was posted to Reddit, commenters pretty much tore it apart because let's face it: it's kinda dangerous.

The clip shows a baby asleep in a bouncy seat, while a KitchenAid stand mixer is tethered to the mobile stand.

While we do understand what this parent may be going forkilling two birds with one stone with the mixer automatically bouncing the baby, and creating white noise to encourage sleep—it is a little disturbing to think of the many things that could go wrong.

Here's what Reddit users had to say about this hack:

"Yep, just picturing that thing flipping up and the baby falling into the mixer."

"Yeah. That's actually a pretty stupid thing to do."

"This can go very wrong very fast."

"This is a cautionary tale waiting to happen."

One commenter joked, "And 17 years later he still can't fall asleep without the help of his kitchen aide [sic] stand mixer."

Another was slightly more positive than most, suggesting, "The scenario where an arm or leg gets caught in the mixing element is so ridiculously unlikely that it's kinda funny people are suggesting it."

In the end, although we give this parent or caregiver points for creativity, we'd suggest skipping this hack, biting the bullet, and embracing the arm cramp that comes with trying to keep the baby bouncer going so your little one doesn't wake up.
