Can a super-famous and super-gorgeous couple give their kids a normal life? Blake Lively hopes so.
Blake Lively just wants to be normal, you guys. Or, more specifically, the stunning 28-year-old actress—who's married to heartthrob Ryan Reynolds and currently expecting baby #2—just wants her kids' lives to be normal.
"Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had," she told Marie Claire for her July cover story. "We don't ever want to rob them of what we had, because we'd feel really selfish."
The former "Gossip Girl' star grew up as one of five children, while Reynolds was the youngest of four boys in Vancouver, Canada.
Of course, it's not normal for kids to have their mom and dad splashed on magazine pages, like in this image Lively shared on Instagram from the Marie Claire story.
But while the super-famous power couple inspire envy in millions, they would simply prefer to live their lives out of the spotlight when it comes to their 18-month-old daughter James. In fact, the new mom has done a pretty good job of keeping her little one out of the public eye since her secret birth back in December 2014.
"I'd rather not have to deal with [paparazzi] at all," Lively told Marie Claire. "But we knew the lifestyle we were getting into, and while it's hard... it's another thing when it's our child. She didn't have the opportunity to make a decision about what she wants."
She did offer a few details, however, about which traits James' genetically-blessed parents have passed down. "She has my clammy hands!" Lively said. "And my heavy eyelids, my meaty eyelids."
Or, to put it another way: her signature, stunning bedroom eyes.
Just don't plan on catching a glimpse of them anytime soon. "My family: That's the thing that I feel most protective of," Lively explained. "And the thing that I feel is the most exposed when I feel exploited."
